Montreal Designer, Amabile Cantisani is collaborating with Frank Caracciolo, a New York City artist now residing in Montreal. Amabile saw an art exhibition featuring Frank’s paintings and was taken by the color and compositions. Conversations about a project led the two to launch a new line of women’s silk scarves. Amabile loved the paintings and thought of them off the wall and into her world. Three scarves inspired by the paintings have been created by Amabile to compliment her signature couture style dresses. “The bold color was perfect to make a statement. I was moved by the directness of the work”. Currently, Amabile is creating a full line of ready-to-wear dresses, and custom designs for her clients. These creations stand alone, in this era of factory made clothing, her designs are hand tailored. Known for the silk lining of her pieces, making them wonderfully sexy inside and out. She has created her own print based on the artist's Black and White paintings, as well as a line of Tees and accessories.(Amabile and Frank at Casa Cares Fashion Show 2010)
Her focus is on quality and nothing more. “Each piece is a part of me and like art, they should raise eyebrows.” Amabile.
